Pandan is a plant full of long leaves which are highly aromatic and widely used in culinary as a flavour. It is known as 'Rampe' in Sinhala and 'Ramba' in Tamil.

Traditional medicine prizes pandan for its role in pain relief, especially arthritis and joint pain. Researchers have found that oils made from pandan extract are rich in phytochemical known to relieve symptoms of arthritis. As an added benefit, they can also help ease headaches and earaches.

Dried pandan leaves are very useful for make taste curry.
